Handwriting

In a village, someone was asked, “Could you please write a letter for us?”

He remained silent for a while, then looked up and said softly—

“I cannot write the letter… my legs are aching.”

Those who asked burst into laughter. “You need your hands to write a letter, not your feet. Why do your legs matter?” they asked.

With a faint spark in his eyes, he replied:

My handwriting is hard to understand. Do you know what happens then?

They will say, ‘Send the person who wrote this.’

I would have to walk all the way there.

I don't have the energy to walk that far just to read a letter, so I’ve stopped writing them altogether.”

The Lesson

After telling this story, my teacher smiled gently and said:

“If the letters aren't clear, the letter won't travel… the writer will have to.”

That story taught us more about responsibility than just handwriting.
